As baburob2 mentioned, title 4 and title 5 relate to us legal immigrants. Hopefully the committee will get to that before 1.00 pm since the hearing ends at that time today!

we are not talking anything new nixstor, there are people already waiting for years to get name check done......dont think if you pretend like nothing is happened will get a GC within a year....even though we might still stuck for years in the name of name check
May be you are right. I am pretending like nothing has happened. But Those folks who are adding spin to the issue on security checks, are you focusing in any way on the root cause of the problem. My point is, If you bring security on, every thing else is shelved until security is fixed. If its already there, let it be there. Let AILA figure out in the law suit how they approved. Let Rep Lofgren do it. Why should we stir up the hornet's nest on digg and open doors to anti guys to tighten security checks on us. Its like we are going out there and saying that "yes, My buddy got GC in 6 months. The security system is not working. Please fix it " What will be the result?

Regarding Cantwell:
The represintitve said they recieved couple of calls. I explained my view and how as an RN i'm effected by this. The office said that sentor Cantwell has not issue a statement. I spoke of USCIS, financail and emotional loss. I did say that hunder of thousands are effected and according to WSJ million of dollars has been lost.
The representitve seems intrested. She transferred me to Olia black voice mail that seems to be taking care of this issue and i left a message for with my contact information.
More people need to call and get thier stories through. After all Cantwell was supportive of skilled workers. So far senators office are responding with interest to personal stories and the effect of the USCIS VB.

My I-485 case got reopened after being in denial status for three months............ My attorney got a letter from USCIS.

I went to the Congressional office on 05/14/2009 morning.
Congressional office made a call to Nebraska Service Center regarding the case on the same day afternoon (05/14/2009 afternoon)
USCIS sent letter to my attorney on Friday (05/15/2009).
My attorney received it this morning (05/19/2009).
Looks like magic........Whoever has been working on my case from the past three months made a huge reversal decision in just a few hours on 05/14/2009 afternoon with atmost attention........I like this sudden surge in commitment and care on my case.......

I need something which removes employer dependency with approved i140 until u file 485.
I hate working at the same employer just becasue my PD is not current. And by the time my PD becomes current, may be employer is not doing good, I am not happy at the job.... and I have to start from PERM again at new employer. Also if employer revokes i140, I loose the PD as well!!

You don't loose your PD if I-140 is revoked. All you need is an approved I-140. USCIS does honor the PD from a revoked I-140. That is what I have heard from various immigration attorneys. The PD is yours to keep. I think USCIS is generous enough to not push a person out of the queue once you have started your GC and progressed until I-140 approval.
I agree, I am definitely breathing from the July'07 filing. Otherwise it would be worse for me and my family to be working for my first GC employer. I am on your side for that.
A general advice don't stress yourself too much about it. It is definitely not good for your health. I use to check the status on my case every single day during my I-140 stage and got stressed out a lot and eventually earned some health problems from which I am slowly recovering. This is just a friendly advice.

Yes, you are right. It is from beginning of PERM.
So, total number in PERM labors are 144K. Thats good, not many.
So, so if we have 150K BEC cases also, it is 300K for primary and 600K-700K total for 485s.
The report shows 144,000 between March 28, 2005 - June 1, 2007. This is not bad as we all are thinking

750,000 applications ? Does that mean the PD will be 01 Jan 1900 after October ? I think you grossly overestimated the number of applications . If the GC quota is 9800 for India then to process 750,00 applications ( most of them will be India I am sure ) will take like 20 years . Thats impossible man !!!

We are talking about HR 5882,5921 and 6039. Very few people are working very hard to take all of us a step ahead with the GC process and we have lots of hope and we also have direction. Please check with your state chapter lead for latest updates.
Which bills are you talking about? I read most were dropped from Iraq funding bill that passed recently.
